Q: How much will I earn?

A: It depends. Since Starboard Manpower Services, Inc. supply manpower services to our client all over the Philippines, we adhere to the National Wages and Productivity Commission’s rate, meaning different region has different rate. In Metro Manila the minimum wage rate is 537 pesos . Additional rates will be given for Holiday (Special or Regular), Premium pay, night differential and overtime pay.

Q: Am I paid for my overtime? How much?

A: Of course. Every work rendered by the employee beyond their prescribed work schedule is paid 25% on top of his daily wage for every hour rendered, which must be authorized, OT performed on a holiday and rest day shall receive an additional holiday or premium pay.

Q: What are the benefits that I will receive?

A: Beside the Mandatory benefits ( SSS, PHILHEALTH,PAG-IBIG) SMSI employees are also covered by an HMO (subsidized by the company) and are insured by FWD (Accident/ Injury and Accidental death)

Q: If I’m seasonal, how many months?

A: It depends. Seasonal employees render work on period where the work load is at the highest. Seasonal employees will continue to work as long as they are needed by the client not more than 60 days in compliance to Dole Ruling.

Q: If I am a seasonal employee, will there be a chance that I’ll become a Regular employee?

A: Yes. All employees that will render service for 6 months or more are regular employees by SMSI, as long as they will pass the appraisal/evaluation that the company will conduct on its 5th month of service.

Q: Are my mandatory benefits be automatically deducted?

A:Yes. Mandatory benefits are withheld and remitted by SMSI in accordance with the Labor Code.

Q: I’m a high school graduate, can I still apply?

A: Yes. Applicants are assessed by our recruiters to find you a work that will fit to your credentials. There are decent work that does not require a college diploma.

Q: I applied for a job without a job order, can I still be deployed?

A: Yes. SMSI will find you work, sooner or later. Walk-ins are welcome.

Q: Do you offer trainings?

A: Yes. Technical work requires that their employees are highly trained. SMSI will assist the applicant to comply to the standards of the client.

Q: What happens if the employees leave?

A: Employees are bound by the employment contract they signed with SMSI. Employees that will leave the company without executing a resignation will be terminated upon observance of due process.

Q: Why is it important to attach my picture in resume?

A: There are positions that require their applicant to possess a pleasing personality, such as promotion position, sales, stewardess, etc.
